I've always found massage so beneficial for body and mind and due to my positive personal experiences of this therapy, I developed a keen interest in learning massage. However, following this path professionally had to be put on hold for many years whilst my children were younger.
I have long been a devotee of a more natural approach to medication and remain a firm believer in natural remedies. Also, having always liked helping people I completed a counselling course some years ago.
By choosing massage therapy, I feel that I can combine these passions by helping people with their discomfort in way that is in harmony with nature.
I chose to obtain my qualifications with the very well respected Alison Rostron School of Massage, based in Norwich. On completion of my training, I was awarded my Level 3Diploma in Massage by the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC), who are the premier international organisation for awarding qualifications in complementary and sports therapy.
Once qualified, I was able to join the Complimentary Therapists Association (CThA), who provide resources, such as liability insurance, and up-to-date information for practising therapists. I plan to attend additional courses in the future which will focus on enhancing the core disciplines that I already have.
